In the complex contemporary context indiscriminate and thoughtless movement of foreign cultural values can affect and even tend to avoid a particular cultural tradition. Cultural penetration by imposing other models, distorts the identity of peoples; hence it is imperative preservation.
The term identity is considered controversial, as can be analyzed from different levels: philosophical, psychological and sociological, among others.
In addition, it should be recognized that manifests itself at different levels: society, group, individual; country, region, locality; world, region, nation and cultural identity, broader, encompassing the others. It is significant importance for the individual recognized as part of a given area, its location, which does not mean losing ties with the nation and the world. Education is an effective way to preserve and develop the identity means, therefore placed at the center of the educational process to the historical-cultural subject. Educational work, particularly in matters directly related studies of culture it is obliged to take into account that the identity has been formed from the mutual interaction of regional identities, different phenomenal forms that national identity assumes in each area which has a regional tradition sufficiently precise; hence the knowledge of cultural values is an effective way to achieve identification with roots, traditions, culture
To conclude, we know, since, people have preferred to take others cultures or customs that their own cultural identity is the set of values, traditions, symbols and modems of behavior, which at this time has been lost.
For our part we believe that this loss of identity is also due to frequent visit of foreigners to a country, which brings these try to impose their culture or else they lose theirs in order to adapt or be welcomed in this new nation.
And we ended up with these questions:
To what extent we should adapt to a different culture to ours? Is it necessary to lose our own culture to adapt to another?
