The purpuse of the cultural and economical working groups of the northamerica cities are:
• Generate meetings , dialogues and exchanges in the field of culture .
• Promote actions for knowledge sharing and mutual enrichment of peoples, allowing a greater understanding of each other's cultural relations .
• Estimulate creativity and promote identity and respect for cultural diversity .
• Promoting access to culture and cultural goods and services .
• Enhancing the role of cultural actors and civil society .
• Providing new insights , such as the relationship of culture to the economy and the integration of culture in development processes , creating new jobs and new cultural industries .
• Encourage new forms of tourism, especially cultural.
• Help incorporate the cultural dimension in the projects undertaken for the development of a community. Strengthening the links between education and culture .
• Contribute to the defense of the values of democracy , citizenship and respect for human rights.
• Develop economic projects
• Financial support and access to finance,
• Contribute to the efforts of companies and institutions to make the region of the united cities be better in the sector of economics and related industries with our language.
7. Main Activities
United cities involve a unique kind of partnership and involvement of the three main sectors of the states involved: the local government, business and private voluntary sectors. United cities involve the widest possible diversity of exchanges and projects. Basically, anything that goes on in a community can become the subject of a sister city project, including healthcare, environment, arts, education, economic and business development, public safety, municipal training, youth, and much more.
- Art and culture exchange: They occur on an individual level from city to city. United Cities facilitates these exchanges by providing support and funding. The activities include: musical performances, art exhibits, construction of peace parks or tea gardens, international cultural festivals, and teacher exchanges.
- Humanitarian Assistance: Programs addressing urban poverty among the member’s countries. Distributing water, food, sanitation and health initiatives.
- Youth and Education Programs: Youth exchange opportunities to its members.
- Economic and Sustainable Development:
- Technological guidance and support to promote utilization of technology.
- Annual energy award program.
- Better world program: Students through the members learn more about accountability, transparency and citizenship participation in government.
