She felt a stinging pain go through her body, it was so unbearable she couldn’t even dare to scream. Maybe after that she would see the light that would lead her to heaven, or at least that’s what she expected to happen, but… Nothing did occur. She didn’t die, her body was floating in the remains, and her mind was at ease, April felt just like a newborn… Strange and without a place.

Just as she got her senses back, she tried to move and see if it was real life or just a fantasy, but, when she did this, something unimaginable happened. April had… A power. A vortex appeared right in front of her and sucked April inside like a black hole would. She couldn’t believe what was happening, but sooner than later she saw herself with nice clothes, clean, in a city without dead people trying to murder someone… She was in the past, exactly before the Hunger Games took place. April understood that this was her chance to get everything back to normal… To get back her friends, her father, and everyone else. She was going to prevent madness.

How was she going to save ROTH? That was her only question. She didn’t know how she would do this, but she thought of the root of all the power… Treznor May.

She knew the good in making such a decision, millions would see her as their hero, but… It was her father, her own blood. Even if she had a deep hatred for him… She cared for this cruel man who only wished the best for her. But April had to think about the future, and she had a mission to fulfill.

April went for an intelligent choice, she wasn’t going to kill him, but she was going to make sure he never got the lead in ROTH again. April May had trouble with this because to her, changing the future scared her. Was everything really going to change? Would Zachary be alive again? If so… He would still love her or all the memories would be vanished? But it was selfish to be thinking of that at such a crucial moment.

April had shown secret information to the security of ROTH, and they decided to release it to the public eye, making happen a coup occur. Treznor went to jail, and she became the new governor of all ROTH. April knew there was only one last thing to do. She didn’t know how to teletransport, but as if her new powers could read her mind, a vortex appeared in front of her and brought her to the new present she created.

Everything was shiny, it looked clean, like a fresh Utopia. She saw happy faces saluting her as their beautiful queen, and she saw the city walls were down. April was shocked, she didn’t expect such a dramatic change, but for the first time she loved change. All April had left to do was see her friends to calm her suspicions, and while she walked down to her house, she found that she wasn’t living alone anymore… She lived with the one and only Zachary Hunt, her fiancé, who greeted her with nothing else but love.

April May was more than just a girl with quite a funny name, she created paradise in a place that darkness was the only thing to be seen or felt.
