- Fixed coal.

Calculating fixed carbon is performed with the following formula:

% Fixed Carbon = (100 - (% H +% C +% MV))

Where:

% H: Moisture.

% C: Ash percentage.

% MV: Percentage of volatile matter

According to the results obtained and collected in Table No. 1, Table No. 2 and No. 3, the table calculation was performed given fixed carbon as shown:

% Fixed Carbon = (100- (37.11% + 9.95% + 3,118%))

= (100- 81,052) = 18,948%

Where,

V: empty pycnometer,

M: shows,

S: solvent (ethanol)

MS: sample solvent.

The bulk density is calculated using the following formulas:

D = mass / volume

Dapparent = (dS - dMS)

Where:

dS: EtOH solvent density

dMS: sample + solvent mixture density (EtOH).

According to data collected in Table No. 4 The calculation was made apparent density as follows:

dS (E) 15.122g- 10.366g = 0.951 g/mL

5 mL

dMS = 13.660g- 10,366g = 0.658 g/mL

5 mL

Dapparent = (dS - dMS)

= (0.951 g/mL – 0.658 g/mL) = 0,293 g/mL
