-The design angle between the keel (q.v.) and horizontal.

14. Deadwood (noun)

-A wooden part (vertical timbers or planking) of the centerline structure of a boat, usually between the sternpost and amidships. It is used to "fill the spaces where, owing to the shape of the vessel, the floor-timbers have to be discontinued."

-Pedazo de madera de la estructura central del bote utilizadas para rellenar espacios donde el piso tubo que ser descontinuado.

15. Death Roll (verb)

-In a keel boat, a death roll is the act of broaching to windward, putting the spinnaker pole into the water and causing a crash-gybe of the boom and mainsail, which sweep across the deck and plunge down into the water.

-En un bote de quilla un "Death Roll" es el acto de abordar a barlovento poniendo el tangón y causar una trasluchada de la parte inferior y la vela mayor que barren a través de la cubierta y sumergirse en el agua.

16. Disembarkation (verb)

-The process of leaving a ship or aircraft, or removing goods from a ship or aircraft.

-El proceso de bajarse de una nave aérea o acuática.

17. Decks (noun) Cubierta (sustantivo)

-The top of the boat.

-Superficie del bote.

18. Deck hand or decky (noun) Asistente de cubierta (sustantivo)

-A person whose job involves aiding the deck supervisor in (un)mooring, anchoring, maintenance, and general evolutions on deck.

-Persona encargada de asistir al supervisor de cubierta.

19. Deck supervisor (noun) Supervisor de Cubierta (sustantivo)

-The person in charge of all evolutions and maintenance on deck; sometimes split into two groups: forward deck supervisor, aft deck supervisor.

-Persona encargada de todo el proceso que ocurre en cubierta. A veces se dividen en 2 supervisores de proa y popa.

20. Deckhead (noun)

-The under-side of the deck above. The inside of the boat is normally paneled over to hide the structure, pipes, electrical wires. It can be in thin wood planks, often covered with a vinyl lining, or in thin PVC or now even in fiberglass planks.

-La entre parte de la cubierta superior, construida para cubrir estructuras, tubos, cableado entre otros.
