13 Guerreros is a film starring Antonio Banderas and directed by John Mc Tiernan (Duro de Matar) that in my opinion are two very great pioneers in this race in which it is very difficult to get to where they have come these two great characters of the cinema And Hollywood life.
It tells the story of a young Arab whose name is impossible to remember. Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan is a poet, exiled from his land and sent to the lands of the north, where he begins to fraternize with a group of Vikings or "Men of the North". The Vikings must confront a tribe of savages, to defend a defenseless people in which there are many slaughters and there is much work of cattle ranch and the faithful are treated like true slaves due to the necessity and the lack of food products.
Although Antonio Banderas' style of acting does not seem peculiarly good, his roles always have a certain charm since you know that the great Antonio is always an actor who dedicates himself to giving the best face to his audience and manages to always remain with this Great but great attitude and great but great talent that distinguishes it before all the public.
Looking over a couple of mistakes or somewhat annoying performances, the positive of 13 warriors is not in an incredible script. Perhaps, the introduction of the story is somewhat quick, the disappearance of the prince as a possible enemy is inexplicable, or the Speed with which Ahmed happens of being a poet to a warrior without training, is illogical.
However, McTiernan's film has several positives, focusing on the characterization of the fifth century and the interaction of cultures which is a very difficult job to perform because of the scenarios so complicated that should be used in such subjects However this great man managed to carry out each of the effects almost as if you were inside the film. The character of Banderas is rememberable, due to several peculiarities, and to the bond of brotherhood that he achieves with his fellow fighters and with all his beloved people.
It may be, treading wells, 13 warriors sweetly framed a spectacular story. The battle scenes are realistic. For genre lovers and epic sword battles, it can be a memorable movie. I recommend it if you stayed awake after seeing Gladiator.
