Definitions

In this document:

"Vendor"

Refers to the party responsible for the supply of the pipe identified herein.

“Manufacturer”

Refers to the Manufacturer of the pipe identified herein.

“Owner”

Refers to XXXX Perú SAC.

“Buyer”

Refers to YYYY, who will be the procurement agent. Also can be called “Manager”, as he is the EPCM of the ZZZ Project, appointed by the Owner.

“Engineer"

Refers to YYY, who is “Owner’s” appointed technical representative.

“Lot”

Refers to a group of pipes of the same diameter and wall thickness which has been fabricated from the same heat of steel.

“MRT”

Material Requisition for Tender.

“PO”

Purchase Order.

“SAW pipe”

Tubular product having one or two longitudinal seams, or one helical seam, produced by the submerged-arc welding process.

“Test Unit”

A prescribed quantity of pipe that is made to the same specified diameter and specified wall thickness, from skelp produced by the same rolling practice, from the same pipe-manufacturing process from the same heat and under the same pipe-manufacturing conditions.

Communications

All formal project communications including drawing and procedure submittals to and from Vendor shall be routed through Buyer from and to Engineer. If requested, a duplicate complimentary copy shall be sent to Engineer for expediency.

Representatives and/or inspectors of Buyer/Engineer are to be designated at the discretion of Buyer and Engineer.

Buyer will provide Vendor distribution instructions at or near time of any order for goods, or during the pre-production kick off meeting under this document. Parties may be inspectors, Engineer, Owner’s representative, or other third parties, at the discretion of the Owner.

Scope of work

This document specifies the minimum requirements for the design, fabrication, testing, coating, and shipping of longitudinal or helical Submerged Arc Welded (SAW) carbon steel line pipe for use on the ZZZZZ Project, tailings transportation system.

The Vendor shall be responsible for compliance with this specification and the relevant codes and standards as stated in this document. In the event the Vendor takes exception to any requirement of this specification, the Vendor shall clearly state the exception(s) and provide a detailed description of Vendor's proposed alternative(s). The proposed alternative(s) shall be clearly demonstrated to be technically equal or better and the associated cost effectiveness shall be stated. All exceptions to this specification shall be closed before proposal can be accepted by commercial group.
