My personal opinion on the arguments that the authors made is that they are completely right and we have to adapt management from traditional to a modern style. This means changing the corporate structure from a single employee having 4 supervisors at once (like me at my own job) to a flat structure that allows more empowerment and tools to be a more effective worker. The steps they listed I think are essential to the success of a company because if a company has bad management but good employees then eventually all the employees will start to leave and by bad corporate strategies it will not bring profits and eventually go to bankruptcy. Setting the goals and developing a plan is a must because without that you cannot operate efficiently and will not be able to have a short or long term future.

The article in comparison to the Supervision class has a lot in common based on the terms that we discussed about how to be an effective supervisor. The article explains some of the things discussed in class like the employee Empowerment, the necessity to create goals and a long/short term plan for them. The specification of some rewards and failures, the motivation needed to receive from the upper management and the tools that have to be provided for the employees to perform their duties. The article also mentions, like we did in class that sometimes managing people is not that easy and that you will not always get it right, even the best manager can make a wrong choice every once in a while and make a mistake but everything can improve with determination.
