On the other hand, the most

popular jobs in Beverly Hills must be performed by professionals with a College degree

or a higher education level.

Along with the most popular occupations in Beverly Hills, we can find the largest industries

which are Healthcare & Social Assistance; Professional, Scientific, Tech Services; and

Retail trade.

There is a huge difference between the main jobs and industries which drive the economy

in each of the cities. This fact leads to different prioritization of the role of education.

Median Family Income

As mentioned in U.S. Census Bureau’s American Fact Finder, the estimated median

income for families who reside in Beverly Hills is $ 66,011.00 dollars per year. On the

contrary the majority of Torreón citizens earn $3,756 dollars per year.

The results of the comparison are drastic due to the different standard of living in Mexico

and the U.S. Even though the currency is different, the average American has a better

quality of life because of better paid jobs. While the minimum salary for a Mexican citizen

is merely enough to afford basic needs.

Percent of Families Below the Poverty Level

8.9% of the population for whom poverty status is determined in Beverly Hills, live below

the poverty line. This is lower than the US national average of 14.7%.

Analyzing the total population of both cities we concluded that, 93,798 of 679,288

habitants in Torreón live under the poverty line, while it is so for only 359 people out of

34,658 habitants of Beverly Hills.

Conclusion

To sum up there are several reasons of why these two cities are more than different, such

as differences in education system, government, cost of living, natural resources, job

opportunities, etc.

We conclude that people clearly live better in Beverly Hills by analyzing the statistics. This

result is not surprising to me. First of all, Beverly Hills is part of The United States of

America, which almost certainly guarantees a high standard of living in comparison to any

city in the country of Mexico since the economic situation in the latter country is not as

good as the one in the United States. Because of the high levels of violence, illiteracy,

drug trafficking, and less job opportunities that make the growth of the economy a harder

process.

In addition to the factors mentioned, the result was not impressive to me also because

Beverly Hills is well known for serving as residence of famous artists, rich and important

peoples well as being a part of one of the richest states in the United States.
