Through activities such as: songs, videos or conversations among others where students have to use their hearing and sight.
Therefore the affective filter hypothesis is the function of the "affection", that is, the effect of personality, motivation, and other emotional and psychological variables in language learning. In this case both teacher and student's role is vital because it will be depending on this the success of learning or acquisition of the second language or foreign language
To work this you should get the following:
That the students lower their anxiety. A low level anxiety facilitates the acquisition of languages. between the student feel less defensive , better will be to the teacher. The teacher can give a little help to the student, in the event that he doesn't want it the teacher can try to give that support or help so that he does not realize.
- Give motivation to students through activities where they can demonstrate their knowledge and give reasons to want to continue learning and go further in this process There are several types of motivation, but some are more productive. Two types are: instrumental motivation, that occurs when the language is a practical necessity, and integrative motivation, which occurs when a second language is acquired to feel identified with a group. As for example give things positive as prizes or rewards.
- Give to the students self-confidence showing them that them are able to learn.. The student with greater self-esteem and confidence tends to acquire more. Example: showing you their good grades, giving good advice, giving positive points for good participation.
2. EFL is an abbreviation for "English as a Foreign Language". This is mainly used to talk about students (whose first language is not English) learning English while living in their own country. (For example, a Colombian person learning English in Colombia.) and ESL is an abbreviation for "English as a Second Language". This is mainly used to talk about foreign students learning English while living in an English-speaking country. (For example, a Colombian person learning English in Canada.)
Methodology
The comics and video games as teaching tools can facilitate the learning of a foreign language as they help to use the new language in contexts and relate experiences,
also these are part of everyday life these are known and used by people of all ages and communities so it to incorporate them into the classroom it will be using a known material that can gain attention , the interest and appreciation more easily and thus develop a relationship between the student and the foreign language.
The images and signs representative in class are activities that can help the student to the learning and enrichment of the vocabulary of the second language, already that when working with these images is going to help the student understand more clearly what we as a teacher or tutor wants to communicate or teach. In addition they are having fun in a group and interact with their classmates leaving the fear or penalty aside.
