MATERIA PRIMA
Caña de azúcar
La caña de azúcar común se cultiva a partir de esquejes desde la antigüedad. Aunque se han ensayado con ciertos éxitos varios máquinas de cortar caña, la mayor parte de la zafra o recolección sigue haciéndose a mano en todo el mundo.
El instrumento usado para cortarla suele ser un machete grande de acero con hoja de unos 50cm de longitud y 13 cm de anchura, un pequeño gancho en la parte del mango.
