I found in a few minutes.

My next class was Spanish so I was hoping that it was going to be a little bit easier than the last one; it wasn’t. The teacher kept on talking in English for most of the time even though he was from Peru and had a really bad accent. I was just waiting for the class to be over. When the bell run I went to the cafeteria to take lunch. After lunch I had to finally ask one of the students to show me where my Algebra class was. This guy gladly took me to the door of the classroom and after thanking him I went inside the classroom. The teacher was Asian. If somebody had told me that he was going to become my best math teacher, I wouldn’t had believed that person because he looked too serious and imposing. He spoke really fast; I didn’t understand a word he said during class but I was thankful that the math problems he gave us were not too hard. His teaching style was so good because he would teach us every problem and explain every single step of the math problem he was teaching us.

My next period was Art. This time I didn’t have to ask anybody to take me there because it was on the same building as my first class. I liked this class right away; most students in this class were seniors so we basically did not do anything during the whole period. All we did during class was to hear the teacher talk about his class and what he expected from all of us that year. When the bell run for the last time that was probably the best sound I had heard that day. It was almost as if someone was taking a burden out of my body. It was the feeling that you get when you come from work and take a refreshing shower.

I didn’t have to wait for my brother, he was already at the front of the school when I got out. I also did not have to wait to get home to eat, there was a guy selling pizza in front of the school. It was delicious, it was kind of juicy and the cheese was melted, that taste almost took me to heaven, my mouth is watering right now just from thinking of its flavor. There was a lot of traffic out of school, it took us almost thirty minutes to just get out of the school plus another fifteen minutes to get home. There weren’t many interesting things to see during our way home so I just talked to my brother about school and the trouble I had finding my classes. He told me to just do my best and that hopefully I would learn some English soon.

I learned a lot that day. I learned that people can be very different from what we think of them. I was expecting everybody to judge, ignore or even reject me for not speaking English, but the truth is that every single person I spoke to that day were very kind to me, and not only that, they also helped as much as they could. I also learned that even as insecure as I am of my English or even as shy as I am I can still get things done, I can still get through the challenges that get in my way and that as long as I try my best to do something I will be fine. It might not be perfect or the way I want things to go but I am sure that in my own way I will overcome every challenge
