This generation it called it "decapitated" by the fact that all these poets died at an early age, Silva at age 21, Borja at 20 years, Fierro at 39 years, Noboa at age 38; and because the death of the four was by own hand (committed suicide). Noteworthy is the fact that although they met in life and even poems were mutually devoted, never met to properly create a literary group. The term "decapitated generation" was born in the mid-20th century, when some journalists and Ecuadorian historians decided to name it to notice poetic similarities among these authors.

The book the tree of good and evil [pic#8], MedardoÁngel Silva, is a collection of beautiful poems. Poetry the soul on lips, Medardo wrote days before his death and was dedicated to "His beloved", became a popular corridor masterfully played by Julio Jaramillo with music by Francisco Paredes Herrera, thus making it clear its depressive, melancholic poetry style, full of beautiful verses of love extremis calling perhaps inadvertently to the death in the form of Muse.

Similarly, the poem for me your memory, of Arturo Borja, was musicalized, as Hall, by the composer Miguel Angel CasaresViteri, to be interpreted by outstanding vocalists as Carlota Jaramillo and Bolivar "El Pollo" Ortiz

Silva died from a shot in his head at the age of 21 years; subsequent analysis cast doubt the killing, since the bullet entered behind the ear. However, it was never explored beyond and was buried without the Catholic funeral rites, so it is assumed his death as a suicide; because according to tests of Criminology, his right hand remains of gunpowder, and that has led to the construction of a popular imagination about his last hours, he talks about since that would have been playing with the gun, and that his death was an accident, until by a loving disappointment it would have taken such a tragic decision.

The humble young man visited his beloved pink beloved Villegas Morán [pic#9], who at 15 years of age lived a block from the House of Medardo, it is said that she was not the love of the young, was perhaps his young age and immaturity that made that he rejected it and not rating the love which he wanted to fill it; because while he would let him "el alma en los labios" she only answered through bitter writings and sarcastic phrases that were below the height of the young poet, and that night in which met to discuss the having her face and looking at her eyes only reached to tell him a few sentences to the ear , but she is not bothered for anything and then the final detonation, not the kiss heard waited, but the tragic bullet, he had taken the fatal and irrevocable decision to end her life with the woman he loved most about 20:10; was enough only one shot in his head to prove that death is much better than the indifference of the woman who was his muse of inspiration; his body was ridden on a warm pillow while his head was bleeding in the cold floor of the House of his beloved.

Days later were the results of autopsy where known that his death was a murder by hand, other known that his heart and liver had a very large size, which showed not only the suffering of his soul, but your entire body, as the suicide was the only solution to his tormented life.

For some his suicide was an act of cowardice, but for others, who mainly read his work in which said "the day that you miss me take down me life" this was an act of Supreme love that wiped out the Sin and broke the barriers of political correctness. In addition because lived in near poverty, and just when he thought to have gotten the love, this challenged him to death and again defeat fell upon him.

It is said that he had many admirers that welled out of love for him and that they wanted to be his girlfriend but he had no love or illusions to any woman who was not his beloved, which was not worthy of his love indeed is said that at his young age, she had an affair with the poet Davila Lauro [pic#10] who would later write the anthem "Guayaquil de misamores".

After the death of Silva appeared a loose poem called "El alma en los labios", in which he expressed how much you loved it and where ratified his love as an act of renunciation to his life and all its future as a poet to show you that "loves that kill never die".

then, Medardo Angel Silva went a Romanic, sentimental person with a penetrating gaze, a young man in love with a young woman of scarcely fifteen years which did not love it so say an unrequited love, a poet well known in his country "Ecuador" for having written the poem "soul on lips" which Julio Jaramillo gave music to the poem and it became It became a “Pasillo” very recognized.
