Un día tuvieron la suerte de encontrar otro barco que estaba de regreso de cuatro años de navegar y pensaron que podrían hablar con otras personas, pero Ahab no quiso parar porque decía que era perder el tiempo. Todos se obsesionaron con la ballena blanca y creían verla por todos lados. Un día de mucho calor, Ismael vio ballenas y empezó a gritar. Bajaron los botes y empezó la gran cacería. La ballena se sumergió bajo el bote y cuando se le levanto comenzaron a atacarla hasta que murió.

Además vieron en el cielo luces extrañas que eran malos presagios. A pesar de todo el capitán Ahab no quería retroceder en su decisión y amenazó a quien lo abandonara. Starbuck tenía deseos de matarlo. Al día siguiente cerca de ellos paso un barco llamado Rachel que decía haber visto a Moby Dick y el capitán pedía ayuda porque perdió a su hijo en el mar. Ahab no le dio importancia y todos comprendieron que el capitán del Pequod no tenía corazón.

Chapter 10

Ismael was the sole survivor. He was saved because floated in the coffin of Queequeg a day and a night. The second day was saved by the boat called Rachel.

Ahab estaba en la cubierta y sus ojos parecían fuego y grito que olía a la ballena blanca. Al ser el primero en verla se quedó con la moneda de oro y grito que suelten todos los botes incluyendo el suyo. Todos bajaron, incluso el capitán y la ballena se sumergió en el mar. De repente salió y tiro a todos del bote. Stubb rescato a Ahab y lo subió al barco. Al segundo dia intentaron atacar nuevamente a la ballena pero todo termino con heridos y desaparecidos entre ellos Fedallah. El tercer día comenzó tranquilo hasta que Ahab vio a Moby Dick y en ella estaba Fedallah atado con cuerdas y su arpón al cuerpo del animal. El capitán lanzó su arpón y la soga de este se atoró en el cuello y lo lanzo al mar. El capitán Ahab había muerto. La ballena nadó hasta el Pequod y lo destrozó.

Ismael fue el único sobreviviente. Se salvó porque flotó en el ataúd de Queequeg un día y una noche. Al segundo día fue salvado por el barco llamado Rachel.
