King Frederick II

Frederick II was born on January 24, 1712, in Berlin, Germany. He inherited the Prussian throne in 1740 and established control of Silesia in 1745. The Seven Years' War threatened to destroy Prussia's status, but ended with Silesia still in Frederick's control. During his time on the throne, Frederick increased Prussia's territories and military power. He died in 1786.

- Consider the historical context at the time and indicate the triumphs and failures of the kings who were sympathetic to the Enlightenment.

I think mostly the do only good things to the people but with the por people the rulers were aweful with them, the treat them like trash and also they didnt gave them any rights and that is what they rulers of that age did wrong.

- Describe the conditions in which the French people lived before revolution broke out.

All starts with the decisión of King Luis XVI, he decide to increase the taxes for the people and with this taxes all of the people starts getting por, people of small resources living in the streets there was lack of higiene also there whas scarcity of food there was no jobs avaliable for the poor people, but the nobles the rich people lived with a lot of privileges becuase they didnt have to pay fot the taxes and they lived by luxury, confort and excesses.

The rights of man are held to be universal: valid at all times and in every place, pertaining to human nature itself. It became the basis for a nation of free individuals protected equally by law.

This was a big step for France to have a new government but years leater Napoleon came and try to start a new monarchy but then they continue with the new type of government.

A form of government in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law.

- US got assistance from France, Spain, and Holland.

On what continent (Europe or America) did the ideas of the Enlightenment first triumph? And what factors of that environment are credited with this triumph?

The continent that lived the Enlightenment more time was Europe thats why i think the ideas of this era triumph more there, also they got more moves of the Enlightenment thant the people in America.
