How Does Technology Impact Your Daily Life?

Over the last twenty years, our lives have been slowly taken over by technology. Take a moment to look around you. How many screens do you see? Did you include the one you are reading this on?

Over the course of history, advancements in technology have transformed monotonous human processes into cheaper tasks rapidly performed by machines. These new gadgets have changed the way we do things, play, and raise our children. Today’s occupations would be unrecognizable to workers of the past thanks to the proliferation of emails, video conferencing, tablets, laptop computers, and other recent innovations.

The approval of new technology has designed new jobs, increasing productivity, and, of course, raising earnings. Business competition has always been an important aspect of the business world, as companies usually compete for the top resources to increase their benefits. In today’s society there is a heavy focus on being able to access your needs as son as possible. These two concepts are merging and show how technology is changing the business world.

But, what is more, we do not leave technology at the workplace, we do not separate our real lives from the virtual. As a matter of fact, our private lives might be even more connected or hooked up than our professional lives. In the 1980s and 1990s, our televisions were often the height of our home technology. Some people had clunky personal computers, a Nintendo for the kids, and maybe even a video console adapted to the TV.

Nevertheless, with the developments in new technologies, these gadgets have improved our daily routine activities, devices such as the remote control systems, the security alarms connected to the police station, the GPS, or the mobile networks, have upgraded the living conditions in the modern world, and this progress is raising still for the better.

However, technology has, without doubt, an impact on society. As a matter of fact, we experience this effect in our daily lives. It has an effect on the growth of the economy, our culture and our living standards. It is also important to note that the benefits are a double-edged sword with some being detrimental and other being beneficial. One should be very careful and get to know how the effects on society get to effect the business activities and operations.

For instance, the great technological improvements in health care have given a chance to doctors to treat their patients with new devices and machines help to give diagnosis or to facilitate early detections of illnesses and diseases. They can also treat their patients in an environment that is virtual through the use of mediums such as video conferencing.

On the other hand, there are some negative impacts of technology. Both, our professional and personal lives are now technology dependent. While older generations fight for learning how to use them, we are in front of the new wave of generations that cannot picture their lives without technologies, becoming the well-known digital natives.

For all these reasons I would support the view that technology is now so integrated with our lives that going without it can cause severe anxiety for some people. It’s not hard to see why. Technology has taken over.

Despite the fact that we cannot really ignore that there are a number of ways in which technology negatively impacts our society, for the better part it has greatly contributed to make out lives much better. Technology has greatly helped us to become more efficient in such a way that increases our productivity. And therefore, I cannot deny that it has also helped us a great deal to be able to save on many resources such as time and money and these are great benefits that cannot be ignored.
