Taking the ideology of liberalists, I supposed that Barack Obama based his administration on it, because he had a lot of programs that drove a nation more pluralistic and which promoted social integration.

What Realism is about it?

“Realism posits that states exist in an anarchic international system. Each state bases its policies on an interpretation of its national interest defined in terms of power. The structure of the international system is determined by the distribution of power among states.”

According to realists the preservation of citizens and their identity forms a nation. Trump is only focusing on America’s problems, being migration one of the more important, immigration can really change the identity of American society. The US is not a nation state with traditions, identity and history of its own, it’s composed by a diversity of race and ethnic groups. This is the reason why I consider that immigrants arriving to the United States do not represent a threat to the American Identity, the President by acting this way is encouraging extreme nationalism[3] and with this also radical right[4].

Then what will happen to the Dreamers?

“New applications under DACA will no longer be accepted. For those currently in the program, their legal status and other Daca-related permits (such as to work and attend college) will begin expiring in March 2018 – unless Congress passes legislation allowing a new channel for temporary or permanent legal immigration status – and Dreamers will all lose their status by March 2020. In my opinion, if the liberalist ideology is taken into account in the current administration of Donald Trump, there would be fewer problems of discrimination, racism, exasperated nationalism and extreme attitudes, among others, that damage the international image of this power as well as the integrity of its inhabitants.
