employees dream of working from home. Depending on your work responsibilities, however, this can either be a true possibility or just dream. Home offices can benefit both employees and employers, and lead to decreased costs and increased productivity.
With fewer people in the office, the cost of office materials and utility bills should decrease. Less coffee, toilet paper, pens and paper clips coupled with lower water, phone and electric bills, those are some of the cost that will be reduced.
In employee satisfaction home office also increases their overall job satisfaction, and as studies show, also keeps them healthier. If your company is paying for their health insurance, your bottom line may benefit from reduced healthcare costs. Home office represents also a social responsibility of enterprises with the environment and the well-being of the employees.
But not only is about the easy way the home office seems to be, it’s also about the responsibility it implies, and the interaction with the superiors and the performance of the deliveries. It is a hard work to implement, but is a reality that is beyond us. It is necessary to give a full capacitation to implement this kind of work and to be sure that the people will work with the maximum percentage of efficacy and efficiency without the necessity of having a boss behind. The change to a home office modality it also a change in the way of working of the Mexican people. This opinion is not in general terms, but in comparison with other cultures we can be more productive if we make our job focused on our tasks.
So, In conclusion I can say that home office is an excellent option to improve our productivity and to get more facilities in our way of work, life quality and reduction of expenses, but it implies a lot of discipline and methodologies to follow to ensure the optimal develop of the works. And also it implies the implementation of performance indicators from the enterprises to give a follow and a feedback to the workers. Because productivity not only is about the hours worked but also about how much you do in that hours and how much you produce or deliver.
